“Teach every day as if your own child were sitting in the front row.” - Jonathan Alsheimer
That quote really struck me this week. Every year, we’re reminded to “remember your why.” My “why” has always been to provide a loving environment for my school “kids”—those who may not experience at home the kind of love my own children do.
As an administrator, that mission takes on a new form. Yes, I get to support my school “kids” by being present, building relationships, and encouraging them in their pursuits. But more importantly, I can create that nurturing environment by investing in the ones standing in front of them every day—the teachers. If I want the best possible environment for our students, I must fully support the most influential person in the room: the teacher. My direct impact can only go so far, but a teacher’s influence extends much further.

In today’s climate, teachers don’t get the recognition they deserve. As administrators, we can’t be part of that oversight. We need to be their biggest cheerleaders. So put on the cheerleading uniform and let’s start praising!
I love public education. I love teachers. And I love Paint Creek.
Go Pirates!
