Build Men

As election season stirs up thoughts on the future of our nation, I’m reminded that the greatest influence we have is right here at home. Instead of getting swept up in what I can’t control, I’m focusing on the example I set for my kids and the values we build within our family.
Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-A, wrote in It’s Better to Build Boys Than Mend Men about the powerful role of mentorship and character-building in raising boys into responsible, caring, and successful men. I’m striving to instill those qualities in my kids every day—teaching them integrity, respect, and responsibility through the small, daily choices we make as a family. From taking ownership of their actions to valuing hard work and nurturing positive relationships, these are the lessons that will shape their character and guide them through life.
While we can’t control the world’s outcomes, we can nurture the next generation of leaders within our own walls. Let’s focus on what we can control: setting an example that shapes our children into the kind of people who will make a difference tomorrow.
